Why You Should Ditch Google Family Link and Switch to Qustodio Today

Your kids have a phone or tablet. They have online access, a wealth of knowledge, learning, and communications—more than anyone else at any time in recorded history.

But are your children safe online?

The evidence says no. Fortunately, there is a solution: parental control services, like Qustodio. It comes with a free trial and works on Android and iPhone.

Why Track Your Family's Online Activity?

You could just stick a computer, phone, or tablet in your child's hands and let them get on with it.

However, that will inevitably lead to trouble. Scams, malware, inappropriate content, games with adult ratings and high levels of violence, cultish YouTube videos… the list of potential risks is endless.

Sure, you could just sit back and let it happen. But as a responsible, proactive parent, you're probably not comfortable with that approach. Happily, there are solutions. Parental control apps can help you monitor your kids' online activity.

But they're often a pain to use, annoying to set up, and end up being switched off because they're just not configurable enough.

That's where Qustodio comes in.

The War Against Screen Time

You've probably heard concerns about excessive screen time. Whether games or educational apps or movies, too much screen time can have a negative impact on attention and memory.

The trick is to find the right balance of activity with and without a phone, tablet, or computer. Successfully achieving this is difficult, but with a tool like Qustodio, you can "Keep your child's screen time healthy and happy."

All you need to do is use the app to set time limits for use; this can control overall access, or on an app-by-app basis.

Qustodio can defeat excessive screen time, putting you back in control.

Getting Started With Qustodio

This software is incredibly simple to use. Start by visiting and signing up for free.

With your account created, you'll be prompted to add your first child account. Make sure you have their device to hand as you'll also need to install the client app. This is done by signing in with the same credentials—just click the I have a parent account button.

No PC? Don't worry. The Qustodio app is available for parents too, so if you're planning to control things from an iPad or an Android tablet, the I'm new to Qustodio option is there for you to create an account with.

When you're setting up the child device, simply check the terms and conditions, give the device a name (e.g. "Daisy's tablet") and configure the accessibility settings when prompted. This permits the Qustodio app to control, track, and act as administrator for the device. Once set up, the app can be closed and the device handed back to your child.

You're then ready to access the Qustodio dashboard on your PC or mobile device. Qustodio runs in the background—your kids won't even know it's there.

Parental Control for Every App

Qustodio isn't limited to particular platforms. Rather, you can use it on any platform, desktop or mobile.

Parents get to use the Qustodio app in parental control mode, or use the web-based Family Portal. Kids can have Qustodio installed on any Android, iPhone, iPad, Amazon (Kindle) Fire, Mac, or Windows device. But will it work on your kids' devices?

  • The Android (and Amazon Fire) version of Qustodio is for Android 5.0 and higher
  • Qustodio on iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPod) works on iOS 11 and above
  • Windows users will need a laptop or desktop running Windows 7 SP1 and above
  • A Mac running OS X 10.9 and later is required for Qustodio

With the right prerequisite operating system, you can use location tracking, monitor internet activity, set screen time and content limits, and remotely manage other aspects of online activity.

Plus, you get a weekly summary of activity for each device sent to your email inbox.

Qustodio's Key Features

What can you expect with Qustodio? Well, there is the usual daily time limits, restricted times when your kids won't be using their phones or tablets, and web filtering to block harmful and inappropriate content.

But you'll get all of this for free with Google Family Link. So, why use Qustodio?

Well, you get the ability to monitor YouTube content for a start off. Rather than block the app entirely, you could use Qustodio to set time limits. Alternatively, you could also block YouTube access from the device browser—a common workaround.

Individual games and apps can have specific time limits set, or access blocked (free apps only allow blocking and unblocking), while Facebook posts can be monitored. Location tracking is also a feature in Qustodio, as well as a panic button for safety. Qustodio also features call and SMS tracking to monitor contact with potential "undesirables." Contacts can also be blocked.

Be aware that the call and SMS tracking feature is not available in the Android app available on the Play Store. Instead, an advanced version of Qustodio for Android will need to be downloaded from the website.

During 2020, Qustodio has also proven useful as a parental monitor for ensuring children are keeping up with remote and hybrid learning.

Qustodio Pricing

Families can enjoy a free trial of Qustodio to get a flavor of what is on offer.

Family access comes in three packages covering small, medium, and large families.

With the Small Plan, you get protection for up to five devices for $54.95 a year (the same as $4.58 a month).

Designated the "Best Value" is the Medium Plan. This protects 10 devices for $96.95 a year, or $8.08 a month.

The Large Plan is $137.95 a year ($11.50 a month) and protects 15 devices.

All of these packages include the premium features of Qustodio: YouTube monitoring, game and app monitoring, call and SMS monitoring, location monitoring and panic button, and social monitoring.

Furthermore, schools and businesses can also take advantage of dedicated packages from Qustodio.

A Family Monitoring App You Can Use Anywhere

Whether you want to manage screen time, restrict access to inappropriate content, or just check where your kids are, parental control software is vital.

Focusing on simplicity, Qustodio is a smart option that anyone can use. Affordable, simple to set up, and convenient, Qustodio is the perfect upgrade to Google Family Link and Apple Screen Time.

Install Kanbani and Get Total Productivity in Your Pocket

Getting organized is vital. In an increasingly hectic world, you must know what you need to do, what you have finished, and where everything you achieve is taking you.

Various organization systems have been adopted over the years, but few are as durable as Kanban. If you like the Kanban approach, Kanbani is one of the best apps on the market in 2020.

What Is Kanban?

Kanban is a method of organizing workflows, with a board (or "Kanban" in Japanese) split into three lists: "To Do," "Doing," and "Done." Workflows are broken down into boards, then lists, and finally cards. Cards can be moved between lists, depending on the card's content, the status of the list, and so on.

You might have used Kanban without realizing it, perhaps organizing tasks on a whiteboard, or using sticky notes to process your tasks.

Bringing Kanban into the mobile space, Kanbani adds a selection of useful digital enhancements that super-charge the Kanban experience. You can get it for free from the Kanbani website, from Google Play, and also from the Huawei AppGallery.

What Can You Do With Kanbani?

A physical Kanban workflow is sadly two-dimensional. Kanbani brings that extra third dimension to the process, replacing any Kanban-oriented workflow.

Further, Kanbani doesn't stop working because you have no mobile data or Wi-Fi connection. Like an "offline Trello" Kanbani keeps working, making it ideal for both solo and team-based work.

Collaboration is a key aspect of Kanbani, with individual boards available for sharing (via QR code) with different groups. You might share one board with your family (perhaps a weekly household to-do list) and another with your colleagues at work (project work, coffee rota, anything!).

All sharing is via QR code for simplicity. There is no signup or registration necessary---only those with the QR code can access a Kanbani board.

A whole host of possibilities present themselves with the Kanban way of working. Kanbani can provide them all. Writing a book? Use Kanbani cards to order your chapters, plot, and message. Organizing a party? Kanbani's embracing of the Kanban workflow makes this a far simpler endeavor than ever before.

Enjoy These Features in Kanbani

When you install Kanbani on your Android phone (tablet is supported, but not optimized), you'll find a simple user interface that can be used to create and plan new tasks and projects.

Kanbani supports online and offline functionality; collaboration can be managed via the publisher's server or your own. There's a user interface designed for easy Kanban management, supporting gestures, and bulk commands.

Importantly, cards can be color-coded for easy search. You can also search by Title and Description.

Kanban boards can be converted into a calendar-style organizer by switching to the Timeline view, which text notes can be grouped into cards or saved as a journal with the Description editor.

Lists can be customized individually and archived based on a predetermined threshold. Customizations include sorting by due date, syncing due to an event occurring, and more.

Boards can be shared for viewing in a web browser. There's also a PHP-based Kanbani board browser, as well as a web-based version (see below). In short, you should be able to access your Kanbani project on any platform, not just via the Android app.

Creating a Project in Kanbani Is Easy

Getting started with Kanbani demonstrates how simple the app is. A "Welcome Board" is provided, providing quick instructions on how to use the app.

To create your own Kanban workflow, tap the drop-down menu, and select Create a new board. Give it a name, click OK, then double-tap as instructed in the app to add a new card.

You'll see how the workflow is split into the three stages (To Do, Doing, Done), while the Settings menu lets you set general and hierarchical configurations.

Creating a new card requires a Title, Description, and appropriate List. The default list names can be adjusted in the settings, colors can be assigned to cards, and a date specified for completion.

This is a simple app that removes what little complication there is with Kanban, and puts your projects in your pocket.

Kanbani's Extra Features Set It Apart

Beyond the standard features you'd expect in a Kanban app, Kanbani offers an impressive collection of advanced features.

After you've created your project, you'll notice that lists can have separate configurations, for example how the cards are ordered, the number of lines to show, and more. In fact. The detail and configuration available for each Kanbani card is pretty granular---you'll be continually surprised how versatile the app is.

There is also the option to bulk-move cards and other general commands. This is an incredible time-saver, and a feature you won't find in popular card-based task management apps like Trello.

For the ultimate in time-saving workflow management, the optimized user experience allows you to simply swipe down from the top (as you would refresh in other apps) to save a card.

We also love Kanbani's encryption. The service has one-tap end-to-end encryption; not even the server owner can see the contents of your card. Coding geeks can dig down into the source code (available on GitHub) and verify the encryption soundness themselves.

Kanbani Is Ad-Free

Rare for Android apps, Kanbani is also completely free of adverts. There are no in-app purchases either. This tool is 100 percent free and designated as freeware.

Further, if you choose to use the Kanbani server, they won't charge you for the pleasure. This is a marked departure from other apps with central servers, and very welcome. This lack of data limits covers any number of cards, lists, boards, and text. Testing shows Kanbani works smoothly on huge boards of over 500 plus cards, data that will all sync between your Android apps.

As PDApps states, this data is "mere kilobytes."

It's refreshing to see an honest and realistic attitude from app developers, especially for such a useful and desirable app like Kanbani.

Complete Freedom: No Dependency

Freeware is good news, but also impressive is developer PDApps' attitude to dependency. Using Kanbani doesn't lock you into their service. Rather, you can set up your own server (using OwnCloud, FTP, or SFTP) to store your Kanbani projects. If your server requirements are driven by privacy concerns, Kanbani is available without Google Play's analytics if you download directly from the developer's website.

Data can be exported in JSON format and imported on a different system manually as a backup. Backups differ from syncing as they completely replace data when imported or restored.

What this means is that you can keep using Kanbani without any reliance on the developer. If they go away, move onto other types of software, or end support for Kanbani, it should continue to work regardless.

Like it says, complete freedom.

Use Kanbani Across Multiple Devices

With Kanbani installed on your Android device, you can use it on another Android device.

The sync feature requires just a username and password. Once inputted on the devices that require access, the Kanban project can be synced to whoever needs it. OpenSSL end-to-end encryption is an optional extra, with the secret stored locally on relevant devices.

Clearly, this makes Kanbani a collaborative organizational powerhouse, letting everyone who needs access to your workflow designs view it and make suggestions.

Enjoy Kanbani on the Web

It gets better than that. You can also access your Kanbani board on any device with an internet connection.

A web version allows viewing any Kanban board project that is synced to the Kanbabi server. You can check this at, which also doubles as a useful demo of the whole service.

Further, you can download a Kanbani viewer app. This is open-source, available to download from GitHub. It's designed to run in any browser, allowing you to view (but not edit) any Kanbani board you have synced.

By visiting the demo version, you can check the benefits of using the browser interface. These include switching between the horizontal left-to-right, Trello-like view into a vertical list topped with a table of contents and print function.

There's also the import/export feature, allowing your Kanban boards to be viewed through the web app. JSON, CSV, Excel, and text formats are supported here. The viewer also supports plugins, so developers on your team can add custom features if desired.

Kanbani: Mobile Kanban Workflow in Your Pocket

For mobile workflow management across any device with a web browser, Kanbani makes sense.

With data syncing to a centralized server of your own choice, online collaboration, optional data encryption, and gesture-based control over your cards, Kanbani is the app-based Kanban system that just works.

To learn more about Kanbani and talk with the developers directly, check out the XDA forum about the app.

Enpass Password Manager: A Perfect App to Manage Your Passwords and Identity

Today every app or service relies heavily on text-based passwords for user authentication. The difficulty of remembering numbers, symbols, and alphabets tempt users to reuse simple, easy to guess passwords at multiple websites, making their accounts vulnerable.

Password managers store your login information and other credentials securely. It encrypts your database with a master password, which is the only password you have to remember. We have a deal on the Enpass password manager tool that we think you’ll like.

Features of Enpass Password Manager

Enpass is a simple, secure password manager that lets you store every confidential information (be it bank accounts, credit cards, licenses, or any attachment) at one place using a single master password. Let’s take a look at some of its features:

  1. One Master Password: Enpass encrypts all the stored passwords with a single master password. You also unlock the app with it. Remember to keep the master password strong and write it down in case you forget them.
  2. Data Stays on Your Device: All your data gets saved locally on your device. Your information never leaves the device until you explicitly choose to do so by syncing through cloud accounts.
  3. Autofill the Login Details: Enpass automatically autofill the login information, identities, and credit card data with one click.
  4. The App is Cross-Platform: Enpass is compatible with Windows 10, macOS 10.11 or later, Ubuntu 14.04, Fedora 27, and CentOS 7. There is an app for Android and iOS devices as well.
  5. Keeps Your Data in Sync: You have the freedom to sync your data with iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, WebDav, and more.
  6. Built-in Password Generator: Enpass has a built-in password generator to help you create unique and strong passwords. You can create pronounceable and random passwords as per your needs.
  7. Segregate Data Using Multiple Vaults: You can segregate the data in vaults for different work environments, be it family or work.
  8. Audit Your Passwords: Enpass can perform a local scanning process to look for weak, identical, expiring, and old passwords. It categorizes them accordingly and helps you keep a regular check on your passwords.
  9. Lock-in with Biometrics: You can log in to Enapss with fingerprint, Touch ID, and more from your device that supports biometric sensors.
  10. Attach any File: You can attach any file to a data of any type, including PNG, JPEG, PDF, or a TXT file.

Should You Buy This Deal

If you have never used a password manager, try out and buy the license of the Enpass app and see if it fits your needs. The developers periodically update them with new features and improvements. Alternatives like 1Password, Dashlane, Roboform, and Lastpass are expensive.

There are some open-source alternatives like Keepass and Bitwarden. Keepass is designed exclusively for Windows. Bitwarden is a feature-laden app, but somehow its import feature (especially from Keepass) is buggy. Take a look at this video for a detailed review of the Enpass.

You might have heard of the news of websites getting compromised. In such case, the attacker gains access to the email address and login information. If you use the same password for your email account, the attacker might use a password reset link to access online banking sites or PayPal account.

Try out Enpass Password Manager and see if it fits in your workflow. You’ll get a lifetime license of the app for just $25.

The Best GPS Phone Tracker to Track a Cell Phone’s Location for Free

Today, there are many apps that let you track a phone’s location. If you need a quick, feature-rich GPS tracker, Spyine could be your ideal phone monitoring solution.

Spyine at a Glance

Spyine is a powerful, well-known location tracker. The app is compatible with both Android (minimum version 4.0) and iOS devices. You can track the target device’s location from any web browser, be it your phone or PC.

Once the app is up and running, you will receive monitoring updates straight in your online dashboard.

But why is Spyine the best GPS tracker to track a phone location for Android and iOS? Here’s the list of some of the benefits:

1. Convenience and Easy to Use

You can install Spyine via any phone or web browser. If you know how to use a browser, the app’s online dashboard will guide you with the steps to track the target’s phone location remotely.

2. No Need to Root or Jailbreak

Spyine doesn’t need you to root or jailbreak the device. This significantly reduces the complexity, and you don’t have to worry about losing the device warranty or data loss. The Android version involves a small APK download, while the iOS version is entirely web-based.

3. Reasonable Subscription Pricing

You can track a single Android or iOS device for a reasonable price. For basic monitoring, the Android version lets you monitor call logs, text messages, contacts, location, browser history, bookmarks, and more. The cost is $100/year.

On iOS, the app lets you monitor iMessages, call logs, contacts, location, photos, videos, list of installed applications, and more. The cost for the premium iOS version is $130/year. Check out the pricing page for more details.

4. Location-Tracking Features

Besides live location tracking, Spyine supports geofence mode, and it even tracks the phone’s SIM card. Here are some built-in powerful location tracking features:

  • Real-time location tracking: The app can track a phone’s location in real-time. It logs every location visit with address and pins the frequently or recently visited location.
  • Location log: It shows you the device’s past movement history including, geographical coordinates, time and date the phone was there, and addresses.
  • 3D Street View: You’ll get a close-up view of the locations where the phone was recently pin-pointed.
  • Geofence: The app lets you create a perimeter around important locations such as a school or workplace. When the phone enters or leaves this zone, you’ll get notified. This feature is useful to keep an eye on your kids when they go out.
  • SIM card tracking: It uses the phone’s cellular connection to track the approximate location and give you details like the network operator and the IMEI number.

Getting Started With Spyine

Sign up for the account in any device of your choice. It’s easy to get started with Spyine and usually takes a few minutes. The process varies slightly depending on the operating system you’re tracking. To monitor an Android device, install the small APK file and optionally hide it from the launcher.

The iOS version is browser-based. You’ll need iCloud credentials, enabled iCloud backup (Spyine use the data from iCloud backups to share information with you), and two-factor authentication should be turned off.

While Spyine has some nice features and advanced location tracking mechanisms, here are some drawbacks of the app:

  1. You’ll have to pay a monthly subscription to use the app. For some people, it’s still a significant investment for an app.
  2. The app does not support offline tracking. If the phone you’re tracking goes offline, Spyine stops working.
  3. You may have to read the documentation and troubleshoot the problem on your own when you stop receiving the data.

Spyine Substitutes

Spyine isn't the only solution out there. Here are some other options to consider.

Minspy: Minspy is another popular phone tracking and parental control service. It can target phone and tablets location in real-time. Like Spyine it can track calls, messages, and social media apps, and more. Geo-fencing is also supported, and you can even link it to social media apps. On the downside, Minspy needs an always-on internet connection in order to work.

Spyier: Similar kind of app with a focus on GPS and geofencing. You can view the device's location on a 3D map and has the ability to log location pin-points precisely. Spyier is also useful for companies that want to supervise employees on company-issued devices. Again, you will need an internet connection for the app to work.

Neatspy: It can track phone location in real-time. The user interface is accessible and easy to use. Its GPS tracker ensures that the location is logged with entry time and date. You can see them remotely through your web browser.

Spyine: User-Friendly Phone Monitoring App

Overall, Spyine gives you an easy, user-friendly dashboard to remotely track and monitor the target device. While there are built-in solutions, try out Spyine to see if it works for you.

Finally, a word of warning. On Android, the app requires you to enable the Unknown Sources setting before installing Spyine. And on iOS, the app works when 2FA is disabled. Make sure you understand the security implications of those actions before making changes.

Why You Should Develop Your Programming Skills With Educative

Online education is booming, with courses covering everything from movie writing to DIY. But finding the right course can be tricky. Some online education platforms offer courses covering everything under the sun. Others are more specialist, providing in-depth learning on a narrower range of subjects.

With so many online learning platforms to choose from, why would you opt for Educative?

To start off, you'd be joining over 390,000 other learners, some of which work at renowned companies such as Facebook, Netflix, and Apple.

If you're fed up with the endless "YouTubisation" of online learning and the habitual play/pen/pause cycle of note-taking, Educative could be perfect for you. This platform prioritizes reading over video, with courses laid out as rich text. After all, humans read at 250 words a minute, far faster than the 150 words per minute spoken in a video.

Courses cover Machine Learning, AWS and Cloud Computing, Kubernetes, Python, and interview prep courses, covering a variety of learning outcomes.

Browser-based IDEs save you the stress of setting up software and SDKs, with your work stored in the cloud. This lets you use Educative's slick coding environments to get started as soon as you sign up.

Online courses vary in cost. With so much in-depth course content available with Educative, you'll no doubt be concerned about the cost.

Educative offers a collection of free courses providing affordable gateways to several beginners and intermediate study paths. These will help you get a foothold on the type of content on offer as well as act as a gateway to premium learning

Courses range in price, with a per-course option or a monthly subscription for all study options. For example, A Guide to Git & Version Control costs $35.00 a year. But you can pay $18.71 per month (discounted from $39.99) to access all courses for as long as you like.

This pricing model means that lessons, quizzes, and playgrounds remain firmly within your means throughout the year.

Most online study platforms deliver content largely using video. The lack of video content on Educative is intentional. But why? It's all about "grokking," an unusual word which simply means "to understand thoroughly and intuitively."

Educative offers courses to help you perform well in programming job interviews. For example, Grokking the System Design Interview (SDI) provides all the preparation you need to ace an SDI.

The course covers the type of content you'll need to be familiar with, while coaching open-ended nature of SDI interview questions. Ensuring you have demonstrable skills, insights, and understanding of key practices and philosophies will improve your chances in hiring interview scenarios.

With a glut of training and education sites on the web, finding a platform that delivers the type of training you need is almost impossible. For software engineering, Educative is head and shoulders above the competition, providing subscription-based training programs designed with demonstrable learning in mind.

From grokking to eschewing video content in favor of the written work, Educative is perfect for anyone looking to get a leg up in the world of programming.

How to Send a Fax Without a Fax Machine Using CocoFax | MakeUseOf

Critics have often suggested that faxing is a near-obsolete technology.

At one time, FTP and IoT technologies looked like the perfect alternative, however, they’ve still not been able to edge out faxing. The latter remains one of the safest ways of sending documents and the easiest method of appending wet ink signatures onto a legal document or any other file.

Thankfully, the last few years have seen significant developments in the way we send faxes. Unlike in the past, when you needed a noisy, large fax machine to send faxes to another party, you can now do so from the comfort of your mobile device or computer, but not without the help of a fax routing service like CocoFax.

CocoFax can be used together with everyday applications like Dropbox, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and more.

The platform enables you to fax documents in a similar way to how you send an email. The difference is that email relies on digital technology while faxes work with analog signals and wired devices.

Online faxing services satisfy both the analog requirements of faxes and the digital technology requirements of emails. All that is needed to benefit from this service is signing up on the platform. Customers also have access to a free fax number.

On your dashboard, click New Fax. Input the destination fax number in Add Recipient. You'll notice options for sourcing documents to fax. The first of these is Add Files, for uploading from a local computer or network drive.

Browse for the intended file and add it to the fax. Multiple documents can be faxed in this way.

While you might think you're ready to send, some other options are available. Use the Settings icon to set the preferred file resolution. Choose from Smooth, Standard, and Excellent.

If you wish to Add Text, click the corresponding option, and add a message. Clicking Send Now will send the document(s) to the recipient's fax machine, accompanied by the default Fax Cover. To alter this, use Setting Fax Cover---nine variant templates are available, or you can upload your own. You can set a template as default or send it without a cover.

When the fax is successfully delivered, you'll receive a confirmation from CocoFax. The delivery report is sent via email and confirms the details of the fax message, including the date and time, sender and recipient, duration of the sending process, and the number of pages. However, as with any system or service, it's worth contacting the intended recipient to confirm they've received the fax successfully, just in case.

Meanwhile, sent faxes can be checked in the Sent folder, and documents sent to you picked up from the Inbox. Remember to only print out those documents you really need a physical copy of!

Further options allow you to upload from cloud services. Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, and OneDrive are all provided.

To add a document from a cloud service to your fax message, select the appropriate provider and sign in. You must permit CocoFax to access the account for the document to be easily shared.

Once again, browse to find the document then add it to the fax. Multiple documents from cloud storage can be added. When you're done selecting, complete the process as described above. Note that you can mix documents from cloud storage with those on your local computer.

Sending a fax with CocoFax is easy. With support for local files and cloud drive uploads from key providers, every possible faxing eventuality is covered.

You can fax from your local computer or any attached local and network storage. Additionally, the service supports faxing files you have stored in cloud drives, multiple cover sheet templates, and retains a copy of faxed documents. For complete fax support, CocoFax also provides the ability to fax from an email and offers integration with mobile apps and collaboration tools like Slack.

Integrate Marketstack Data into Your Website or App

A free marketstack API account requires just an email address, relevant personal details, and a password.

With the account set up, you can find your API key, start querying the endpoints, and begin adding market data to your project.

Find Your API Key

Find your API key by signing into your marketstack account to view the Dashboard screen. Your API key is displayed alongside the details of your selected package.

To make an API request you need the API access key. Note that this can be reset at any time to create a new key. This is useful if you accidentally make the key public.

A query begins with the base URL:

A request available for basic plan users is the End-of-Day (EOD) data:

End of Day market API endpoint

Running this displays pages of data for a specific company (Apple Inc). Data in this format can be styled for presentation in your website or apps.

Note the optional parameters. These can specify sort order, date range, a limit to the query results, and an offset.

Query the API Endpoints

With marketstack API you have access to various API endpoints, each capable of delivering different data. Each of these is subject to optional parameters.

  • End-of-Day Data: look up data for one or multiple stock tickers
  • Intraday Data: data intervals as short as one minute can be queried
  • Real-Time Updates: with the high request subscription of the Prodessional plan, intraday updates can provide minute-by-minute market updates in real-time
  • Historical Updates: stock prices going back a year (Free plan), 10 years (Basic) or 30 years (Professional and above) can be displayed with this API endpoint

Incorporate ticker stock data in your site with marketstack API

  • Tickers: this displays information about a specific stock ticker symbol (e.g. AAPL)
  • Exchanges: look up data from the 72-plus stock exchanges covered by marketstack
  • Currencies: check the rate of trading currencies supported by marketstack
  • Timezones: display information about supported timezone

As with the example above, these API endpoints all have specific parameters that you can use to tailor queries to the intended outcomes.

HookSounds: Royalty-Free Music Never Sounded So Good

Much of the time, music makes everything better. Whether you’re trying to make your daily run more interesting or want to spice up a video, music can make a huge difference.

Of course, especially when it comes to videos, music can make your work much more complicated. You can’t just pick any old song and include it in your video, unless you want to get hit with a copyright claim. That’s where royalty-free music services come in handy.

HookSounds is one of these services, but it also happens to have a few new tricks up its sleeve.

What Is HookSounds?

HookSounds Homepage Top

In a way, HookSounds is like a lot of other royalty-free music libraries in that it offers music you can use for whatever purpose you need. Where it differs is its focus on original production and exclusive music. This means that the music you find on HookSounds is only available on HookSounds.

Many other royalty-free music libraries aggregate music from a variety of third-party sources and then resell it. HookSounds, on the other hand, manages all of its own productions. This is part of what the service does to maintain a level of quality you won’t always find on other platforms.

On top of the standard library, HookSounds also offers custom compositions. This means that you can offer up references for a certain sound you’re looking for and the HookSounds team will deliver you a specially composed song meeting those criteria.

This is the sort of perk big teams in movies and TV have musical directors and composers for, so it’s an incredibly handy feature.

No Need to Worry About Copyright

If you’ve ever worked with music in videos, you might have run into the issue where the song you use results in a copyright claim against your video or channel. Not only does this mean you can’t monetize your video in most cases, but it also can take the video offline for a while, which is a major inconvenience.

HookSounds Music Search

HookSounds avoids this issue in a simple way: the service owns the copyright to all its tracks. This means that HookSounds can clear any claims against channels or videos associated with its music right away, letting you focus on the content and not copyright.

More Than Just Royalty-Free Music

Of course, there is much more to the sound of your video than just the dialog and music. These two will get you at least 90 percent of the way there, but sometimes you need a little more. When that’s the case, sound effects can enhance certain parts of your videos to make sure the viewer keeps paying attention.

In the near future, HookSounds will start offering sound effects in addition to music. This is part of its existing service, so any subscriber will have access to them as part of their existing plan.

HookSounds plans

If you, like most people, plan to use the music for commercial purposes, HookSounds offers a variety of price plans depending on what you need. These range from professional broadcast plans to individual licenses for one-off products, so you don’t need to pay for more than you need. The service even has a free plan for non-commercial use or testing the service.

HookSounds puts major emphasis on the quality of its music, and given its original and exclusive nature, it’s easy to see why. Still, that music is something that you’ll want to hear for yourself. The best way to do that is to sign up for a free HookSounds account and start listening.
