Orbit Powerbank: Features

The Orbit Powerbank is a 5000mAh battery in a slim anodized aluminum package. How many phone charges you can get out of a 5000mAh battery depends on which phone you have. I got a full charge on my iPhone XS plus a little bit more with my fully charged Orbit Powerbank.

The output port is a USB-A, otherwise known as standard USB, perfect for charging an iPhone or anything that uses an Apple Lightning charging cable. The input port, used for charging the Powerbank itself, is a typical micro USB. Four status lights let you know when your Powerbank is fully charged and when it's in use.

The Orbit Powerbank charges, tracks, notifies, and takes selfies. What doesn't it do?

There is a built-in Bluetooth tracker, which works both ways. You'll need to download the app to connect the Powerbank to your phone. If you misplace your phone, you can press the button on the bottom of the Orbit Powerbank and your phone will make a loud sound. Conversely, if you open the app on your phone and tap Find Orbit Powerbank, you'll hear a loud sound that allows you to find your Powerbank. If you are out of range from the Powerbank, you'll see its last known location in the app. If it moves from where you left it, the Orbit community may be able to help. If anyone with an Orbit product comes within range of your Powerbank, you'll be notified.

Free - Download the Orbit app

The Orbit Powerbank also acts as a camera remote. You can prop your phone up on a tripod or other secure location and pose for a selfie. The button on the bottom of the Powerbank activates the shutter.

Other nice features include a separation alert, so if your phone and the powerbank leave Bluetooth range from each other (about 20 feet), you'll get a notification. There is also a low-power reminder, you'll be notified if your Powerbank's battery gets below 30 percent. The Orbit Powerbank comes in Black, Silver, and Rose Gold. It's similar in size, shape, and weight to my iPhone XS.

So much more than a battery

Orbit Powerbank: What I like

I like that this small package holds so much. Not only does it charge my iPhone, but it also works as a tracker. I could pop it into a suitcase when I check it at the airport and voila! I have a smart suitcase. I like getting a notification on my phone when the Powerbank's charge is running low. The camera remote is a less important feature since you can always use the iPhone camera's timer instead, but it's still nice to have.

Not cheap

Orbit Powerbank: What I don't like

You can certainly buy a 5000mAh battery pack for less, and you can also buy a Bluetooth tracker for less. However, if you're planning to both, you could probably save money by buying the Orbit Powerbank.

I have the separation alert turned on, and as I was writing this, I got a false alarm. There was no reason for it go off. I was sitting in my living room with both the Orbit and iPhone close at hand — mere inches apart. You can set a safe zone for the separation alarm, so it won't go off in your own home. I did that and haven't had any false alarms since.

Great multi-functional product

Orbit Powerbank: Bottom line

4.5 out of 5

The Orbit Powerbank charges your iPhone or other devices on the go. It is a Bluetooth tracker; the Powerbank tracks your phone, and your phone can track it. It will send notifications to your phone when the battery is running low, and when it and your phone are moving out of Bluetooth range from each other. The Orbit Powerbank has a camera remote shutter button, which is perfect for selfies and group photos. at only $50, you get a lot for your money.

Wallet, case, stand

Silk Folio Wallet iPhone Case: Features

Constructed from vegan faux leather, this wallet folio case has a hard plastic interior case so your phone is protected from every angle. The lip of the case is slightly higher than the screen. The folio flap contains four card slots and a long cash slot. I had no trouble placing cards into each of the slots or removing them.

A large elastic band can be pulled over the back to hold the folio closed when not in use if you wish. A detachable wrist strap gives you a hands-free carrying option. The case can be folded into a kickstand if you'd like to watch videos. Because of the interior plastic case, the phone is still fully protected in kickstand mode.

Large cutouts ensure all of the buttons, speakers, ports, and camera are unobstructed. Wireless charging still works even with the case fully loaded. The Silk logo is embossed on both the outer front and interior front flap. There is a small cutout on the front so you could actually talk on the phone with the case secured closed, though of course, you'd have to open the folio to make or accept the call.

The Silk Folio Wallet iPhone Case comes in two colors: Black Tie Affair (black) and Rosé All Day (pink.) It's available for the iPhone X/XS, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS Max.

So functional

Silk Folio Wallet iPhone Case: What I like

I've reviewed a number of folio wallet cases and many are missing what I feel are important features. This case really has all of the features I can think of needing. Plus, the price is incredible, especially for this level of quality.

Might be more case than you need

Silk Folio Wallet iPhone Case: What I don't like

As great as this case is, it's not going to be to everyone's taste. If you like real full-grain leather, this is not it. It's constructed entirely from artificial materials. Note that especially once you get those cards in there, the case is pretty bulky.

Makes good on its claims

Silk Folio Wallet iPhone Case: Bottom line

4 out of 5

Silk nicknamed this case "Keeper of The Things," and it's true. It stows enough that many people can leave the wallet at home and just bring their iPhone in this wallet folio. With added features like the closure band, wrist strap, kickstand, and wireless charging, this case will fit the bill for many users.

Adds functionality

ESR Urban Premium Folio Case: Features

ESR's Urban Premium Folio Case adds functionality to the newest iPad Pro without taking any away. The Sleep/Wake functionality is activated when you open and close the folio. The case doubles as a stand. You can prop up your iPad Pro at two different angles, both of which are appropriate for video viewing or reading.

There are button covers over the volume buttons and Sleep/Wake button. You'll find cutouts for the camera, speaker holes, and charging port. On the newest models, which are linked in this review, there is also a cutout large enough to charge and dock an Apple Pencil. Note that the cases I was sent, which you can see in my photos, do not have the large cutout. This misstep has since been fixed. You can still find the exact case I have on Amazon, but it costs the same as the updated one so there's really no reason to buy it unless you're sure you'll never want an Apple Pencil.

Unlike some folio cases, this one has a plastic frame inside to secure and protect your iPad. It even has a slight lip around the edge of the screen to protect your iPad's screen in case you were to place it face down with the folio open. It feels more protective than cases where the iPad attaches via magnets.

ESR's Urban Premium Folio Case is available for the 2018 12.9" or 11" iPad Pro and comes in three colors: Black, Twilight, and Knight. Twilight is a gray fabric; Knight is a gray and blue wood-grain faux leather.

Price and functionality

ESR Urban Premium Folio Case: What I like

I like that this case offers both protection and functionality at a bargain price. Between the hard folio cover and the rigid plastic insert, your iPad Pro is protected on all sides. Add to that the ability to prop up this case to read, surf, or watch videos. All in all, you're getting a lot for your money here.

Not to everyone's taste

ESR Urban Premium Folio Case: What I don't like

I didn't use this for months on end, but the quality does feel solid enough to last a long time. However, the looks aren't to my personal taste. It's really up to the individual.

The only function missing here is a typing angle. If you like to type onscreen, a lower angle is preferable. You could slide it down lower to type, but it bounces up and down as you type so that's not ideal.

A great deal

ESR Urban Premium Folio Case: Bottom line

4 out of 5

If you're looking for a folio case for your iPad Pro and you don't want to spend a lot, check out ESR's Urban Premium Folio Case. It allows the iPad's full functionality plus it can be used as a stand.

Mujjo Leather Wallet iPhone Case: Features

Mujjo's Leather Wallet iPhone Case is made from vegetable-tanned full grain leather, so it will develop a patina as it ages. The cutouts for the camera and Sleep/Wake switch are gently chamfered. A slight lip around the edge of the iPhone's screen gives you some protection when your phone is placed face down. Embedded leather button covers allow the buttons to function normally. The entire bottom of the case is cut out to allow full access to the Lightning port and speakers. The interior of the case is lined with Japanese microfiber.

The wallet portion of the case is really just a piece of leather stitched onto the back. The thread matches the leather. On the iPhone XS Max case, it is stitched at a jaunty angle. Other models, such as the iPhone XS and iPhone XR, have the pocket placed straight across but still cut at an angle for easy access. The cards were easy to remove but did not fall out on their own in my testing. Mujjo claims that the wallet will hold up to three cards, but in my testing, only two fit comfortably. If you are putting in paper business cards as opposed to credit cards, more would fit. But for the plastic cards I used, two was my limit. I also noted that wireless charging worked just fine in my testing, even with two plastic cards in the slot. If I jammed in a third card, however, wireless charging did not work.

Branding is subtle, with Mujjo embossed on the back of the case as well as in the interior. This case comes in four colors: Black, Tan, Olive, and Blue.

Luxury defined

Mujjo Leather Wallet iPhone Case: What I like

This is the type of case that looks amazing with a suit or other dressy clothing. The attention to detail and high-quality materials make this a case you'd be proud to show off. I really didn't expect a case with a full card slot on the back to still allow my phone to charge wirelessly, but this one does.

Quality isn't cheap

Mujjo Leather Wallet iPhone Case: What I don't like

Generally, full-grain vegetable-tanned leather cases tend to be on the more expensive side, and this is no exception. For some people, a two-card slot doesn't qualify as a wallet, so if you need to carry much more than that in your phone case, look elsewhere. Also, keep in mind that this is a slim case, and slim cases are not going to be as protective as heavy-duty ones are.

Attractive and functional

Mujjo Leather Wallet iPhone Case: Bottom line

4.5 out of 5

This is a great solution for the person who wants a fantastic looking slim case but also wants to be able to carry a couple of cards on the go without having to bring a wallet.

Thoughtful design

Nomad Rugged iPhone Case: Features

Nomad's Rugged iPhone Case is a basic case that is thoughtfully designed. Its polycarbonate body is melded with a TPE rubber bumper, lined with smooth microfiber, and wrapped in American Horween leather. The TPE bumper is flexible enough to make putting on and taking off the case easy, plus it provides a bit of grippiness so the phone doesn't slip out of your hand.

But if it does slip out of your hand, the case is designed to withstand damage from drops of up to six feet. The bumper is raised just enough above the screen to protect it if the phone is placed face down. Embedded rubber button covers protect the Sleep/Wake and volume buttons. Cutouts for the camera, Lightning port, mute switch, and speakers ensure full functionality with the case on. Wireless charging works too. It's a pretty slim case.

Nomad sources their leather from the Horween Leather Co. in Chicago, an American leather tannery founded in 1905. The natural vegetable-tanned leather will develop a patina over time. In addition to the Rustic Brown shade shown in the Amazon links, it is also available in Black. Nomad puts all their branding on the inside of the case, so there is no logo on the outside.

Looks and function

Nomad Rugged iPhone Case: What I like

Many cases are more for protection than fashion, or more of a fashion statement than a protective cover. I like that Nomad's Rugged case has it all: ruggedly handsome good looks, quality materials, careful design, and phone protection. You don't have to make a compromise. You can use this case on your next outdoor adventure, or wear it with a suit at the office. It works everywhere.

Quality doesn't come cheap

Nomad Rugged iPhone Case: What I don't like

At $45 dollars, you're spending a pretty penny on this quality case. Personally, I think it's worth the price, knowing that you're getting quality craftsmenship. After all, it's protecting a phone worth about 20 times its price. But I realize that it's definitely on the luxury purchase side of the spectrum.

I'm also a little dissapointed in the limited color selection. Nomad's Rugged case only comes in brown and black. I'd love to see a wider variety of colors in the future. Maybe someday we'll see one in that beautiful Natural color Nomad just launched?

Top-notch case

Nomad Rugged iPhone Case: Bottom line

4.5 out of 5

Nomad's Rugged iPhone Case is classy, elegant, slim, well-constructed, and protective. It combines excellent materials: strong polycarbonate body, flexible TPE rubber bumper, soft microfiber interior, and American Horween leather back. You can't go wrong with this case.

Silk Nudist iPhone Case: What I like

Clear cases are popular because you can see your gorgeous iPhone while still protecting it from scratches and drops. This case is a basic, soft but firm clear plastic-type case. You can order just the clear version and be done with it. However, if you want to have some fun, order it with a fun pattern printed on it. The current "Chef's Special" is a pink butterfly pattern, and the "Flavor of the Month" pattern showcased here is covered with cute woodland flora and fauna. If none of those float your boat, you can click on "Choose Your Own Adventure" and then "Customize Now," which takes you to a further list of five more patterns at a slightly higher price. You can also choose your size: iPhone X/XS, iPhone XR, or iPhone XS Max.

The back of the case is lightly frosted, so you don't get weird reflections or easily develop hairline scratches as clear cases sometimes do. There are precision cutouts for the camera, speakers, Lightning port, and mute switch. The embedded button covers for the Sleep/Wake button and the volume buttons are nice and clicky. There is a definite lip that comes up over the edge of the screen to prevent damage when you set your phone face down.

The entire case is flexible so it's pretty easy to put on and take off. The phone is fully functional within the case, including wireless charging. There is branding on the case, but it's just the word "Silk" embossed on one edge, barely noticeable unless you're looking for it. The word "Nudist" does not appear anywhere on the case, fortunately.

Not for everyone

Silk Nudist iPhone Case: What I don't like

This is more or less the ideal case for what it is. It's not super sophisticated and if I were a captain of industry I probably wouldn't carry this into my fancy boardroom meetings. It's also not especially heavy-duty; I wouldn't want to drop it out of a window. It doesn't have any hidden features like a cardholder or kickstand or anything. I really can't point to any specific flaws in this case, but it's just not going to be the perfect case for everyone.

Great clear case with a bonus

Silk Nudist iPhone Case: Bottom line

4.5 out of 5

If you're looking for a fairly slim, clear, functional, inexpensive, soft plastic-type case, you've come to the right place. This is especially true if you like the bonus of a really cute pattern on it.

Totallee Thin iPhone Case: What I like

This super duper thin case is not the sort of case you can expect to protect your phone from a fall. It's bare minimal protection, and that's all some folks want. I'd say this case is thinner than my fingernail. It fits the phone so well it's easy to forget you even have a case on your phone.

The volume and Sleep/Wake button holes are so precisely cut that it almost looks like there metallic button covers. But no, those are the actual iPhone buttons showing through the case. There are precision holes for the Lightning port, speakers, and camera as well. Speaking of the camera, there is a slight protective lip around it so when you set your phone down face up, your camera won't get scratched. However, there is no lip around the edge of the screen for face-down protection. The edges of the case just sort of melt into the phone so you can barely even see where the case ends. Obviously, wireless charging is not affected by this case at all.

Totallee Thin iPhone Case comes in a whole bunch of colors, some of which are translucent so you can see a shadow of the Apple Logo through the case, while others are totally opaque. An interesting thing to note: The Clear case is not only totally sheer, but it is just a bit thicker than the other colors. It's made of a different material which just isn't quite as thin. And unlike the other colors, it does have button covers. It's still what I'd call an ultra-thin case, however.

There is no branding or logo on this case. It's a blank slate.

Bare protection

Totallee Thin iPhone Case: What I don't like

If you use a case this thin, you just aren't going to get the kind of protection you'd get from a thicker case. Scratch protection, you'll get. But not much more than that. Given that there is so little ... well ... case here, it's not really cheap.

One thing to note - I used the Clear case on my personal phone for a few weeks, and the case itself got a little bit scratched and pitted as you can see in the photo above. To my knowledge, I did not do anything that could have caused that kind of damage to the case. Some people might not notice or care about tiny pits like that, but I noticed it, and it's something to be aware of. My iPhone itself did remain pristine, so whatever accidental minuscule trauma my phone might have been exposed to, the case did its job. As I mentioned above, the Clear case is constructed of a different, thicker material than the other colors. The others do not feel prone to possible pitting like the Clear one.

Slim and minimal

Totallee Thin iPhone Case: Bottom line

4 out of 5

For minimalists who want just enough coverage to keep their phones from getting scratched, the Totallee Thin iPhone Case fits the bill. It doesn't detract from your iPhone's beautiful design and it does offer a little bit of protection.

Pretty, iridescent sparkle-effect case offers 10-foot drop protection.

There is a fine line between cute/sparkly and little girly. The Twinkle case is one that I, as a full-grown woman, am proud to carry around. Additionally, those of us that want a super cute case don’t necessarily want to sacrifice protective value. Case-Mate’s Twinkle Case offers both style and protection.

Serious case, whimsical looks

Case-Mate Twinkle iPhone Case: What I like

Cases seriously don't get much cuter than this. The back of the case is absolutely loaded with metallic, iridescent bits of large glitter foil. I love the way it looks.

The back of the case is not a picture of glitter, nor is it a waterfall case. Actual glitter is embedded into the hard plastic back. The glitter isn't exposed, so the case cannot shed. There is no texture here, the surface of the case is totally smooth.

The edges of the case are a rigid but slightly flexible material. There are precision cutouts for the mute switch, camera, speaker sections, and Lightning port. There are metallic button covers for the volume buttons and Sleep/Wake button. I tested it with wireless charging; it works. The case looks and feels like high quality, despite its being plastic.

Case-Mate claims 10-foot drop protection for this case, though I did not drop my own phone to find out. It does feel quite thick and solid with cushioned corners. The case comes in three different color patterns and all of the lastest iPhone models.

A bit thick for my tastes

Case-Mate Twinkle iPhone Case: What I don't like

This won't matter to everyone, but this case is a little thicker than I like to use in my personal life. While thickness does generally mean better protecion, in this case, the embedded glitter is what makes the back so thick.

The edges are thick, too, and rigid enough that taking the case off isn't easy. Not a big deal if you put a case on and leave it on, but I tend to switch frequently and don't want to struggle with removal.

One thing to note, which may or may not matter to you, is the obvious branding. Case-Mate is written in graceful script across the back of the case near the bottom. It's not tacky but it's there.

Adorable and protective

Case-Mate Twinkle iPhone Case: Bottom line

4.5 out of 5

The quality and style of The Twinkle are excellent. It's aboslutely beauitiful and is designed to protect your iPhone from drops of up to 10 feet. If you don't mind the overall thickness or the rigidness of the edges, this is your blingy dream case.

ESR Trifold Smart Case for iPad Pro: What I like

When I worked in the Apple Store last year, customers would always complain that Apple only carried the Smart Cover, which attaches magnetically to the iPad and covers the screen but doesn't protect the back of the iPad at all. The current Apple accessory lineup also includes a Smart Folio, which does cover the front and back of the iPad Pro, but leaves the edges of the device totally exposed. Years ago, Apple made a Smart Case, which was one piece and covered both the front and back of the iPad. This case by ESR is modeled after that old favorite Smart Case.

The back part of this case is hard plastic, but it's not hard to put on or take off. All of the expected cutouts are there so the iPad is fully functional within the case, with the exception of charging an Apple Pencil.

There are slight variations in the ESR Trifold Smart Cases; the Yippee style has an opaque back, you cannot see through it at all. It has one large cutout at the top and one at the bottom for the USB charging port, microphones, Sleep/Wake button, and speakers. There are two cutouts on one side for the volume buttons and a magnetic connector. The other side has a large cutout that exposes the microphone and accommodates the cover hinge.

The Lightweight style case has a translucent back, so you can clearly see the color of the iPad through it. There are also slightly different cutouts. The top and bottom have precision cutouts for the speaker holes, microphone holes, and USB charging port. There are embedded plastic button covers for the Sleep/Wake button and volume buttons. There is a small cutaway for the magnetic connector and the opposite side has a large cutout to accommodate the case hinge and microphone hole.

The front trifold cover folds back into a stand for the iPad Pro. It can stand upright, which is a great angle for viewing videos or reading a book. It can also stand at a lower angle, great for typing on the screen.

It's just smart to have a cover that protects the front, edges, and back of the iPad. This is my personal case that I've been using since the latest iPad Pro was released. I once dropped my iPad from a height of about five or six feet onto the carpet and it was fine — and no, I did not drop it on purpose in order to test it. This was a real life whoops.

Not for everyone

ESR Trifold Smart Case for iPad Pro: What I don't like

The ESR Trifold Smart Case has the cutout for the magnetic connector, but it's rather pointless since the cutout isn't big enough to accommodate the Apple Pencil itself. So if you are an Apple Pencil user, this is not the case for you. ESR also makes cases that do dock and charge the Apple Pencil, which I will review at a later date.

it must be noted that this is a sub-$20 case and it looks and feels like it. It's plastic and it's not going to fool anyone. It's also embossed with the ESR logo on both the front and the back, which isn't my favorite thing to see. However, I like the design and the colors enough to overlook these things, but it's something you should know before buying.

Smart protection for the money

ESR Trifold Smart Case for iPad Pro: Bottom line

4 out of 5

This bargain smart case has Sleep/Wake functionality and protects the front, back, and sides of your 2018 iPad Pro. It also folds back into a stand that can be used at two different angles. However, it does not have Apple Pencil charging and docking functionality which may be a dealbreaker for some.
